Register a developer account
Registration creates an identity, an account row, and one API key. The key is shown once and then only ever as a prefix.

Key handling
How the key is stored
A key is stored in a form that cannot be read back. What you see in the console afterwards is a short display prefix, never the key itself.
The stored value follows the same published contract the read surfaces resolve against, so a key issued here is accepted wherever a key is accepted. The console states plainly whether a service currently resolves them.
